Wolves React To Gamekeeper Who Had Been Away On Maternity Leave
“WHERE’S YOUR PUPPY! WE WANNA SEE YOUR PUPPY! DID YOU JUST HAVE THE ONE? DO YOU HAVE THEM WITH YOU? ARE THERE PHOTOS?”
I’m not a hundred percent positive but I’m pretty sure this is the wild life center where I visited wolves.
And the safety briefing included the question “So if you’re pregnant, do you want to know or not?”
Turns out there had been a bit of an awkward situation once where the keepers had casually mentioned a woman’s pregnancy in a group, and she herself didn’t even know yet. Turns out the wolves are excellent at telling if you’re pregnant and the keepers can tell based on their body language. They get all odd and careful around pregnancy. (Even wolves knows that you have to take care of pregnant people.)
So they definitely knew she was pregnant.
And if I remember my BBC documentaries right, a wolf will leave the pack to give birth and introduce the cubs to the pack once she feels ready for it. And maternity leave is flexible but often around 6 months so they’re going “YOU WERE GONE FOREVER! WE WERE SO WORRIED! WHERE ARE THE CUBS?? WE HAVE TO GREET THE CUBS!!“
Also the two on her back are fighting over who gets to greet her first. Giving and receiving attention is a commodity that goes by hierarchy and if you don’t accept that there will be scuffles.. The wolf lying down next to her isn’t chill about her coming back, it’s just submissive to the other wolves and waiting for it’s turn to show excitement.
Now I can see why we domesticated these adorable jerks.
Wolf packs have maternity leave?
When people graffiti on buildings: Yes! Ha ha! Fuck yes!
When people graffiti on rockfaces and cliffsides on hiking trails: What the absolute fuck.
It's not punk to poison the soil, dude.
Apparently there used to be a heirarchy of graffiti: tag < piece < mural < memorial. And doing one lower in heirarchy over a higher one was a huge insult. Like it was a specific unwritten rule thing
[image ID: Tumblr tags reading: #also murals #please don't do that #or the really nice graffiti #there was a nice mural of birds on the side of a building that someone did one of those quick 'scribble' signing on #and it was really annoying #cause it makes it really hard to fix #cause you can't just cover it up /End ID]
I mean I think people should curate their own fandom experience and whatnot and it's perfectly fair to just avoid things one is uncomfortable with...
That being said. From personal experience? Immunizing myself to all my discomforts by browsing through pixiv and kink memes with raised eyebrows while searching for things I am interested in back when tagging was non-existent has really made my fandom experience much more pleasant nowadays.
I have preferences, for sure. But I have no fear. I have no cringe. The filthiest, grossest fanwork holds no powers over me. I am a god.
Like honestly dl;dr and block on sight is respectable and all but I genuinely think everyone could just benefit from purposefully exposing yourself to your nOTP and non-triggering squicks sometimes? (And obviously don't go bother the creators for it.) If only so that it makes it easier/safer to search for content you like without living in fear of accidentally glimpsing something you hate and having that ruin your day.
Training oneself to be comfortable with mild discomfort is a highly under-rated skill in this day and age
I think its interesting that "desensitized" is a dirty word now. Like...when I did my therapy, being desensitized was the GOAL. It was the fucking dream.
But also, desensitization essentially gives you the agency to say, "okay so that felt bad, now I can either put it away, really explore and understand what that discomfort is trying to tell me, or discard it." Idk...some of yall are so fucking distressed all the time and you call it "being normal" or "being a decent human being" but...it isn't normal to be distressed all the time. It isn't decent to be distressed all the time. And like...I have disords and chemical shit going on in my brain but if you don't have all that....I think you need to look at your distress and ask why it is actually enduring and who benefits from you being distressed (lessons from a pre-bush era american).
Because I'm only seeing other Jews posting about this, non-Jews I need you to be aware that for the past month or two there has been a wave of bomb threats and swattings at synagogues all across the US. They usually do it when services are being livestreamed. I haven't seen a single non-Jew talking about this. High holidays are coming up in a few weeks, which is when most attacks happen against our communities. We're worried, and we need people to know what's happening to us.
MCYT RELIGIOUS GUILT OFF R3 MATCH 4
CAPTAINSPARKLEZ (MIANITE) VS MYTHICALSAUSAGE (AFTERLIFE SMP/EMPIRES SMP SEASON 2)
CaptainSparklez: "he did everything to prevent (ianite's) death, and yet it wasn’t enough. instead of accepting that there was nothing he could’ve done, that he did all he could, but she was dying from the moment he stepped foot on these lands, and maybe even before then, he still blames himself. he apologizes to her grave for not being enough. he blames himself for her death, for not being enough for his goddess, when he went above and beyond to do everything he could in an attempt to save her"
MythicalSausage: "this man has been reincarnated so many times and he does it all for pearl every time. he had SUUUUCH a breakdown when he met her on esmp season two. threw him off for the whole rest of the day. i know this guy spent his whole childhood praying to a goddess he Needed to believe in with all the shit he was going through because when he came face to face with her he was NOT normal"
